If you are one of our current clients you know that our matchmaking method is secure and safe, leaving very little room for error. But we know that some of you out there are still trying online dating sites where you arrange your own dates meaning you are responsible for your own safety. Here are some tips so that you can make some safe and fun online dating decisions.

1 – Cross Reference Photos
Don’t be afraid to do a Google image search of your date’s profile pictures. This can be an easy way to see if they have multiple profiles, or if the images were taken from a stock photo or modeling site.
2 – Protect Your Information
Be hesitant when giving out your phone number or address – even personal social media accounts. Make sure that this person is someone who you feel comfortable knowing your personal details and NEVER give out your bank or credit information to strangers online.
3 – Set the Scene
When you decide to meet in person, pick a public and safe place. Drive (or walk) yourself there so you can choose when to leave, and always tell someone where you will be and when you expect to be back.
4 – Watch your Drinks
You always be sober on a first date – especially with someone you are meeting for the first time. Watch your alcohol intake and if you feel you are getting intoxicated too quickly, or you feel you have been drugged, notify someone (friend, wait staff, bartender) and get help immediately.
5 – Listen to Your Instincts
Don’t fall into the trap of not wanting to hurt someone’s feelings. If you feel unsafe or like you don’t want to continue the date for ANY reason – get out of there. It’s better to pull the plug early then get stuck in a situation you might have a harder time getting out of.
